The public verification page shows exactly one verdict. This page lists all of them and explains how IVQA decides.
The statuses#

How the verdict is decided#
IVQA evaluates the credential at every scan, in this order:
- Is there a published credential for this code? A draft or pending document has no public existence and answers Not found, without revealing that a draft exists.
- Is the underlying document publicly eligible? A document revoked or expired at the document level makes the credential revoked or expired.
- Is the credential itself valid? Only a credential whose status is exactly valid can verify. A revoked credential is revoked even if its document row still reads valid.
- Are the validity dates satisfied? Documents with a validity period become Not yet valid before the effective date and Expired after the end date, automatically, with no action from you.
The rule that never changes: a credential that is not valid can never be displayed as VALID.

People also have a status#
A student or employee is Pending, Validated or Revoked. This is their registry status, shown on their own verification page. A revoked person cannot receive new documents, but revoking a person does not by itself change the verdict of documents already issued — use Status & Revocations for that.
