VALID means that the issuing organization currently recognizes the document: the credential exists, it has been published, it has not been revoked, and today falls inside its validity period if one was set.
What the verifier sees#
- The green VALID banner with the sentence This credential is recognised and currently valid in IVQA's official registry.
- The document type and title, the issuing organization, the holder's name and UID, the public ID, the status, the issue date and — for students — the program and level.
- Signed QR: OK when the link came from a genuine IVQA QR code.
- File integrity verified when the uploaded file's SHA-256 fingerprint is on record. The fingerprint itself is displayed so it can be compared with the file the holder provided.
The French interface shows VALIDE.
What keeps it valid#
Nothing needs to be renewed for a document without a validity period. For documents with dates:
- Student documents generated from templates are valid for 3 months from issuance.
- Employee, company and institution documents follow the effective from / valid until dates you set; leaving the period unset means the document stays valid until revoked.
When a period ends the status becomes expired automatically.
What makes it stop being valid#
- Revoking the credential or its document from Status & Revocations — see Revoked credential.
- Reaching the end of the validity period.
- Deleting the student: the documents generated for them are deleted and their credentials revoked (awarded certificates and diplomas are preserved).
