IVQA follows one rule: the QR code and public ID belong to a document issuance, not to the combination "this student + this template". Knowing that, three situations are easy to tell apart.
Reprint: download the same document again#
A published document keeps its file, its public ID and its QR code. To reprint it, open Student documents (or Diplom and Certificate), select the student and use Download on the document. Nothing changes: the verifier scanning the reprint sees the same credential.
Continue a draft: same identity#
A document you started but did not save is a draft. Use Continue editing to reopen it: it keeps the identity reserved for it, and saving publishes that same identity. Until then its QR code answers Not found.
Renew: issue a new document, new identity#
When a fresh document is needed — the old one has expired, was revoked, the student's information was corrected, or you simply need this year's certificate — create a new document from the template or by uploading a file. It receives:
- a new public ID and a new QR code;
- its own validity period (3 months for template documents);
- its own line in the documents table and in Status & Revocations.
The previous document is untouched: it stays published, revoked or expired as it was. If it should no longer verify, revoke it explicitly. See Revoke a credential.
