This article answers the questions institutions and companies ask most often.
Getting started#
Do I need to install anything? No. IVQA is used in a browser at app.ivqa.org. Verifiers only need a phone camera.
Can one account be both an institution and a company? No. An account is either an institution (students) or a company (employees).
People#
Why can't I select a student or an employee? They are still Pending. Validate them on QR Codes students or QR Codes employees with Generate QR & Submit.
Can I set the UID myself? No. Student and employee UIDs are generated by IVQA.
Documents#
Why does the verification page say NOT FOUND? The document is probably still a draft. Open it with Continue editing and save it. Also check that the code was typed under the right type on check.ivqa.org.
Why did a student document expire after three months? Template student documents are valid for 3 months. Generate a new document when a current one is needed.
I corrected a student's name. Why does the document still show the old one? Documents copy the person's information when they are generated. Generate a new document and revoke the old one.
Can I reuse a QR Code for a new version of a document? No. Every document has its own QR Code. Download the existing PDF to reprint it; create a new document for a new version.
What is the difference between revoking a person and revoking a document? Revoking a person stops new documents for them. Documents already issued keep their status until you revoke them in Status & Revocations.
Where are the documents I generated from Google Docs or Word? They are managed in Status & Revocations. They are not listed in Student documents or Employee documents.
Access#
Why don't I see Subscription or Users & Roles? Subscription is for the account Owner. Users & Roles requires the Owner or Admin role.
I get a 403 error when I submit a form. The form's security token expired. Enable cookies, refresh the page and try again.
I lost my API token. Tokens are shown once. Revoke it in Settings > API Tokens and create a new one.
